Pretty sure rendering and actual actor states are not linked in that way. Have you tested this with someone on the ground? Also how do you know that a second volley was not fired in the time you moved out of render distance and back in? Not sayin...

You're in a tank? Like...a militia tank? If you're using a Caldari tank, chances are your armor will be totally wiped out in one shot since they have paperthin armor. Hell this is somewhat true for advanced Caldari tanks as well.
